Challenges
Which challenges do our customers have?

The EV Challenge: Going carbon neutral dramatically changes how public transport operates

The Situation:

Fleets must comply with carbon neutrality regulations in the 2030s.

Integration of EVs into mixed fleets increases operational complexity.

Operations need new processes, expertise & technology to evolve.

The Dilemma:

Tomorrow's fleet operations must be data-driven, but few operators are prepared to do so.

Current solutions tackles the situation, but with potential lock-ins, inflexibility and high costs

The Data Trap: Who Really Owns Your Fleet’s Insights?

The Situation:

Bus manufacturers collect and control critical vehicle data, limiting operator access.

Data from different providers comes with varying granularity, formats, and restrictions.

Fleet operators struggle to create a unified, independent data strategy.

The Dilemma:

Operators rely on manufacturer-controlled data, risking lock-in and high costs.

Fragmented data sources make holistic fleet optimization difficult.

True operational control requires direct, unrestricted access to vehicle data.

The Driver Effect: Efficiency Starts Behind the Wheel

The Situation:

Driver behavior significantly impacts fuel consumption and battery efficiency.

Harsh braking, acceleration, and idle time increase wear, energy use, and costs.

Fleet operators struggle to monitor and improve driving patterns at scale.

The Dilemma:

Existing solutions provide scores but lack actionable, real-time coaching.

Fuel-saving initiatives often rely on sporadic training rather than continuous feedback.

EV and diesel buses require different driving techniques, complicating training efforts.

The Range Reality Check: Optimizing Battery Size and Route Efficiency

The Situation:

EV bus range depends on route conditions, weather, passenger load, and driving behavior.

Operators struggle to predict how long a bus can run before needing to charge.

Oversized batteries increase purchase costs, while undersized ones risk operational disruptions.

The Dilemma:

Route planning must balance efficiency with real-world energy consumption.

Uncertainty leads to conservative scheduling, unnecessary charging, or oversized battery investments.

Manufacturer estimates often don’t match actual fleet performance under real-world conditions.

The Idling Dilemma: Wasting Fuel, Battery, and Budget

The Situation:

Buses often idle for long periods at depots, terminals, and traffic stops.

Diesel buses burn unnecessary fuel, increasing costs and emissions.

Electric buses drain the battery, reducing range and increasing charging frequency.

The Dilemma:

Many operators lack real-time visibility into excessive idling patterns.

Training drivers to minimize idling is challenging without actionable data.

Manufacturer solutions may track idle time but don’t provide fleet-wide optimization.

Modular data-based infrastructure

3. Modular data-based infrastructure

Vendor-Agnostic Approach - We provide a flexible data operating system for public transport, empowering clients to avoid vendor lock-in and choose the best services for their needs.

Seamless Service Integration - We partner with various service providers to offer pre-integrated solutions, like battery analytics or predictive maintenance, allowing customers to select the most suitable option.

Custom Tailored Solutions – While our core offering provides essential functionality, we also work with clients to develop custom solutions—such as driver performance/rating services—based on their unique requirements.

Scalable Infrastructure – Our platform is designed to easily integrate with additional services, supporting the growth and evolution of your data ecosystem as your needs expand.

4. Tailored insights & capabilities

Role-Specific Dashboards – Pre-built dashboards for different personas (e.g., maintenance managers), featuring key metrics like state of charge, remaining brake lining, washer fluid level, and Telltale errors.

Customizable Solutions – Standard dashboards can be tailored to individual customer needs for a more personalized experience.

Actionable Insights – Provides clear, data-driven insights that empower customers to optimize operations, reduce downtime, and cut costs without needing data analysis expertise.

Tailored insights & capabilities

Frequent stops wear down brakes quickly. Real-time monitoring helps optimize maintenance, cut costs, and ensure passenger safety.

Comfortable cabin temperatures improve passenger satisfaction. Monitoring indoor and outdoor temperatures ensures efficient HVAC performance and proactive adjustments.

Managing electric bus SoC prevents mid-route depletion. Analyzing SoC and energy use helps optimize schedules and charging strategies.

Balanced accelerator pedal usage improves driving efficiency and comfort. Monitoring pedal input and vehicle speed helps identify aggressive acceleration patterns and supports smoother, more economical driving.

Analyzing bus position data helps optimize operations, identify high-use locations, monitor stop durations, and track vehicle activity.

Bus Compatibility

A lot of data is available with the FMS interface in most buses. However, with other CAN interface connected (e.g. battery CAN) there may be differences in what information is available for certain manufactures.

Because we don`t want you to buy the pig in a poke, you can check out our bus compatibility list that describes which information is available in you buses.

If you cannot find your make and model on the list, a Signal Check with a dedicated hard-and software can be conducted.
